Idaho Police Have DNA of Accused Student Killer

Idaho police investigators say they found DNA on a knife sheath of the man accused of killing 4 University of Idaho students in November of last year. The sheath was found at the crime scene. According to a court affidavit the knife sheath was found at the murder scene.

The suspect arrived in Idaho on Wednesday night

The suspect, 28 year old Bryan Kohberger arrived back in Idaho on Wednesday after being arrested at his parents home in Pennsylvania last week. The court affidavit was released before the start of a court hearing Thursday morning. He's charged with four counts of first-degree murder and felony burglary in the November 13 killings of the four students including one from Washington State.

Police say the suspect was also spotted inside the home

The affidavit also says phone data has found that Kohberger had been in the area of the murder scene a dozen times since June. The records also show he visited the area of the murders hours after they reportedly happened. Also police say one of the unharmed roommates says she was awakened by crying on the morning of the killings and saw a man in dark clothing wearing a mask leaving the home out a sliding glass door.

The suspect is now being held in an Idaho jail awaiting the next hearing

The court has set the next hearing in the case for January 12. Kohberger is being represented by a public defender.
The judge also ordered Kohberger to have no contact with victim family members while he is in custody.
