The fire has spread north along the shoreline and evacuation notices have extended northward, with the Stehekin Valley area now under Level 1.

The town at the head of Lake Chelan faces numerous challenges including growing power demands, a loss of private property and a lack of accessibility by road.

Sometimes I just feel like taking a drive to see the sights. Seeing places I have not seen in a long time or never seen at all.

The town is facing numerous issues, including flooding, loss of private property, fires and the possible loss of power.

Dock permits are now required as of May 1, and will be mandatory until the end of October at the 15 docks managed by the U.S. Forest and National Park Services.
