The two countries signed the Treaty in the 1960s to establish coordinated flood control and hydroelectric energy production throughout the Columbia River Basin.
The PUDs are part of an agreement the federal agencies have with Canada over the flow of water on the Columbia River, which is called the Columbia River Treaty.
The Chelan, Douglas and Grant PUD's are hosting a Clean Energy Expo and bringing leading energy technology companies to the event to show possible energy production options for the future
