Stemilt Creek Fire Held To 21 Acres Near Wenatchee

The forward progress of the Stemilt Creek Fire has been held to 21 acres, and evacuation notices were reduced to LEVEL 1 advisories late Saturday afternoon.
The limited growth of the fire since Saturday afternoon is credited to a quick aerial attack on the fire that was burning in timber and brush.
Wenatchee Valley Fire Department Deputy Chief of Operations Andy Davidson said the response by DNR crews, along with support that included four helicopters and two scoopers, was vital in helping to stop the flames' advance.
The fire was reported about 1:45pm Saturday on Stemilt Creek Road, 0.2 miles north of Stemilt Loop Road, south of Wenatchee.
There are no reports of damage. The cause has not been determined

The Chelan County Sheriff's Office has issued LEVEL 2 and LEVEL 1 fire evacuation ALERTS for the Stemilt Creek area.
The affected area is Stemilt Creek Rd, Stemilt Creek Loop, and all side roads Clear Lake, Lilly Lake. Residents are advised to prepare to leave.
The Chelan County Sheriff's Office has issued a Level 1 Fire Advisory for the vicinity.
A strike team and aerial support have been requested. A fixed-wing aircraft scooper and a helicopter are assigned to the fire
