Camp Zanika at Lake Wenatchee has canceled multiple summer sessions because of smoke from the Little Giant Fire, and the financial hit is serious.

Wenatchee Valley Fire crews responded to three residential fires, including two in Sunnyslope. One structure was a total loss; no injuries reported.

Starting July 1, campfires and other fire-prone activities will be banned on Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife lands due to wildfire risk.

To help curb the spread of invasive spiecies, campers are asked to get their firewood near or where they are camping.

These outages would most likely occur, if necessary, in areas threatened or hit by wildfires.

Use of fireworks is banned as of this year in both Wenatchee and East Wenatchee.

Campfire restrictions are in place within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.
